This year's Downbeat Critic's Poll placed Mitchell in the top ten for Rising Star Jazz Composers, and for Jazz Flute. Mitchell was also honored to win #1 in the Rising Star Flute category for 2008. It is her forth consecutive year to win #1 in the Rising Star Flute Category. Mitchell is extremely honored to receive these accolades.
